6. Bengali – 181 million
Bengali is part of Indo-Aryan language derived from Bengal area including modern state Bangladesh, the Indian state of West Bengal, and parts of the Indian states of Tripura and Assam.
There are people who live in Europe, America and Saudi Arabia and also communicate in Bengali.
The language uses its own Bengali script that looks like Hindi and Sanskrit. It is an ancient language now spoken by 181 million people.

5. Hindi – 182 million
Hindi-Urdu belongs to the family of the Indo-Aryan languages. This language has two official forms – standard Hindi and Urdu standard. They look very similar.
Hindi is the official language in India and Urdu-Pakistan. They are spoken in parts of Europe and North America by Indian and Pakistani immigrants.Hindi alphabet and Arabic, while Urdu predominant Islamic influence in writing.

4. Arabic – 221 million
Arabic is a Semitic language and is distributed mainly in the Middle East and North Africa. It is part of Central-Semitic subgroup which also includes Hebrew and New-Aramaic languages.
Nearest to the Arabic language is Maltese, described sometimes as Arabic dialect.
Arabic dates from the fourth century and is currently used by about 221 million people.

3. English – 328 million
It is from the family of West German languages. It originated in England and southeast Scotland during the Anglo-Saxon era. It is distributed in many parts of the world in some regions acquires the character of lingua franca and became the leading language for international communication. English is often taught as a second language is an official language of the European Union and many countries of the Commonwealth, as well as a large number of international organizations including the United Nations.

Spanish is an Iberian-Romanic language and is the most common Latin language. It is close to the Portuguese.
Spanish is the official language ofover20 countries. In south western America it is quite common because of the huge number of immigrants there.It is also one of the six official languages in the United States.Spanish is another Romanic language, which dates back to the ninth century. There are many dialects commonly spoken by about 350 million people.

1. Chinese (Mandarin) – 1 billion
Mandarin is often called the Chinese language, but in reality he is just one of the many languages of this vast country. It derives from the Sino-Tibetan language family and is the official language of China and Taiwan. It is also one of the four official languages of Singapore.
Mandarin has two writing systems – traditionally Chinese and simplified Chinese.
Mandarin is spoken by about 1 billion people.
