Failed to connect to the server Minecraft Windows 10
okay if you're watching this video you
probably settled minecraft server on
your computer and you can no longer
access it or it's not working and your
friends can't access it or maybe you can
access and your friends can't I'm gonna
try and go through some of the common
problems that a lot of people tend to
have shortly after trying to host their
own minecraft server so here we go I'm
gonna go over to my Windows computer and
see this is the error message that we're
looking at this is the kind of things
that I'm gonna address there's some
other issues you may not get this error
message you may get something different
that I'll address in this video as well
so we're here failed to connect to the
server so you get back to the server
list here's Udrih server - my - that I
have I mean you may have as many as you
want but for whatever reason you or your
friends can't connect to your server
alright so we click refresh says ping it
would already show green here just think
it's the server was up and working so
the first thing we're going to do is
we're gonna go to wherever you have your
server saved whatever that file folder
is you're gonna go ahead and open that
and then you're gonna have multiple so
I'm just gonna open it up here here's
what the inside of the file should look
like and what I want you to do first is
look here for these minecraft underscore
server and it'll be like one dot 10.1
dot one dot jar or one dot 12.1 dojo or
something like that and what you want to
do is you want to go ahead and you want
to write down whatever version it is and
since I have two of them here you well
which one do I write down we're gonna
look for the newest one so this one's a
little older so this is the one I want
to write down minecraft server dot one
dot eleven doctor job for me yours might
be 12.1 or something else and that's
perfectly fine so go ahead and write
that down that's gonna be important
we're gonna need that at some point to
troubleshoot an issue the other thing
you're gonna do is you're gonna you're
gonna server properties and you're gonna
double click that server properties
folder right there when you open it up
it's gonna have a server port don't you
write that number down to that server
port two five five six five years might
be different but we're gonna bet the few
five five six five is what I have so it
doesn't matter you don't change it just
write it down you need that
and then the next thing you're going to
do is you're gonna open up your web
browser and you're gonna go ahead and
either go to Google and Google you're
gonna write what my IP address
Google's can come back with your IP
address you're gonna go ahead and write
down your IP address we'll need this as
well you dress something you only want
to give to your friends you don't want
to give up little strangers but you'll
need this you'll need the IP address
this changes this is given to you issued
to you by your internet service provider
so every time your modem resets and you
have a may have a modem router all in
one you may have two devices but
periodically this number is gonna change
and it may be that you have the same
dumb IP address four months or it might
change every day but when this changes
it's gonna change how you log in to your
server and then you're gonna go here and
you're going to type in CMD that's a
Charlie Mike and David and run it as
administrator if you have permission to
do that the command prompt that's what
you want to open you're gonna run that
click OK it's gonna have something up
here doesn't matter what it says you're
just gonna type in I p c0 and f IG and
then you're gonna get a couple numbers
off of here and write those down as well
and it's very important you write these
down and label them as well so the first
thing we got from the minecraft server
was their version number or the name of
that jar file the other thing that we
got was the port number so you got that
number written down you have your IP
address from Google and then your ipv4
address ipv4 it's gonna be 192.168.1 got
51 something like that write that number
