DISCLAIMER: Any allegations, opinions, and reactions towards the behaviors of other YouTubers, are not to encourage harassment of others, but to bring awareness to the exploitation of monkeys here on YouTube.

IN THIS VIDEO: Several examples of VO's interfering in the lives of these macaques. Showing social media has a real big problem in protecting primates.

COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1.) What am I doing to help?
There are many viewers that don't realize what they are watching is neglectful, physical, and or, psychological abuse towards the welfare of these primates on social media. Content that’s often mistaken and not realized as being harmful, under the guise of made-up drama or scenarios, and those creators feeding off of their viewers who are misinformed. I explain why it's abuse/neglect, give people information on what kinds of things that could potentially be signs of neglect/abuse, and talk about misleading scenarios. I leave my comment section for open discussion, so we can all learn more from each other. Per YouTube's policy, as a creator, I can't tell people not to watch specific channels, nor can I tell people who and what video to flag/report to YouTube. However, If I give people the information to help them recognize these things maybe they will consider for themselves not to watch. Or if they do watch, they are more equipped to know what to look for and hopefully report/ flag abusive content to YouTube. If enough people become aware of the issue and report it, my hope is YouTube will finally do something about it.

2.) Why am I monetized?
When I made this channel, it wasn't for the intent to make money. I just wanted to have an archive of my point of view. That way, I could show others the abuse and so my words wouldn't be just words anymore. I also wanted feedback, thoughts, and opinions of others. I never thought I would get over 100 subscribers. I never knew how many like-minded people there were. The support I have received from my viewers and learning the process of becoming a YouTube channel and monetization, the goal for my channel has turned into reaching a further audience. I learned monetized channels are more likely to be suggested and appear to viewers through YouTube's algorithm. monetization helps me accomplish that goal of reaching a larger audience. Not every video is monetized. It's also a small perk since I work hard on my videos and editing is actually time consuming. I will not ask for financial contribution from my viewers. Memberships will not be a thing here.

3.) Is more of an accusation than a question: You're making money off these monkeys, so you are just as bad and stealing other people's content.
Exploitation of animals is much more than just earning money off of videos of monkeys. Animal exploitation refers to taking advantage of animals. Which often involves harm and or neglect, disregard of the suffering animal, and includes the purpose of financial gain or benefit. Exploiting of animals almost always has to have this gross disregard for their well-being. I would rather see animals cared for properly, treated with respect, by people who really care. I bring awareness to this awful disregard towards monkeys, I'm not the one participating in it. Also, exploitation cannot occur when it's something open to the public. Would you say news channels are exploiting by talking about a politician, music artist, criminals, or animals because they are making money. I don't think so.
Copyright laws protect both original creators and new creators. News, and many content creators use other people's footage or ideas and create them into their own. Fair use is transformative. I'm no different than any other new creator. If I were stealing, I'd have to take a video from a channel, repost the video on mine, add no changes, don't credit to the original creator, present it as if it were my own, as well as monetize on the video. That is what copyright protects for original creators. That is stealing.
