Zebra Danio (Brachydanio rerio) is very popular ornamental fish in the hobby. It is originated from India and surrounding areas. But since it is relatively easy to breed, it is massively bred in captivity. It possesses horizontal stripes on the anal fin and on the body that is extended to the tail fin.

Habitat: It usually found on slow moving clear river stream or still water rice field.

Characteristic: The Zebra Danio is a schooling fish that need to be kept in groups. Tank with dense plants, rocks and driftwood is highly suggested since it will provide it some places for hiding. It is relatively peaceful with other tank mate and will not nipping on plants.

Diet: Frozen bloodworm, live tubifex and high-grade floating pellet will be accepted readily.

Suitable tank mates: Large tetras, Corydoras, rainbowfish and other peaceful Danio
Unsuitable tank mates: Malawi cichlids, Arowanas, Tiger fish and other aggressive fish.
