Edelrid Via Ferrata Belay Kit is a combination of:
- An auto-blocking metal plate.
- A static rope measuring 15 meters or 25 meters.
- A rope pouch.
- A carabiner.

For my case, to make Edelrid Via Ferrata Belay Kit work I use:
- A Mammut Workhorse carabiner to fix the auto-blocking metal plate to the belay station (usually an anchor point on the Via Ferrata).
- A carabiner that connects the rope to the belay loop of the sitting harness of the climber that requires assistance.
- Two more carabiners.

For a three two one pulley hauling system I use either three Petzl pulley and two Prusiks or three Rollnlock from Climbing Technology with no Prusiks.
As a minimum I go with two Petzl Mini pulley and a Prusik.
Of course, all these pulleys require their own carabiners.
