Описание

The University of Regina Alumni Engagement Office, in partnership with the Lifelong Learning Centre, is pleased to present the fourth in its Research with Impact 2020 free and virtual lecture series.

Stem cell research has the potential to improve a variety of medical conditions – but carries incredible risk. Even with evidence questioning the safety and effectiveness of these treatments, a global private market for stem-cell based treatments continues to grow. In this presentation, Amy Zarzeczny addresses the tension between creating effective policy and the need to provide better research resources for potential patients and their loved ones.

Amy Zarzeczny is Associate Professor with the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. Zarzeczny is a health law and policy scholar with research expertise in governance and regulation of biotechnology and health innovation. Her work has been funded by CIHR, SHRF, the Stem Cell Network and Genome Canada.

(Note: Virtual presentation aired on June 9, 2020. Comments and questions are now closed.)
