Branwell Brontë (1817-1848) was the only brother of the famed Brontë sisters. Competing with his sister Charlotte (Jane Eyre, Villette, Shirley) for narrative in their imaginary colony of Glass Town, as well as with his sister Emily (Wuthering Heights) for the spookiest haunted tale, Branwell was a writer, poet, translator, organist and painter. Despite his many faculties including fluency in Greek and Latin, he struggled to find a career. This documentary details Branwell's painting studio in Bradford and his subsequent missteps which saw him addicted to laudanum (opium) and alcohol from 1845 until his tragic death.
