Pontiac Sunfire 01w 2.2l and a T45E transmission fluid & filter change fluid level check

Description: This 01 Pontiac Sunfire with 2.2l engine and a T45E 4-speed automatic transmission was having shifting issues. And got a partial transmission fluid and filter change as a maintenance issue. It uses dex III fluid originally. And this is my typical fluid and filter change, for these with over 150k miles on it. And the procedure for setting fluid level properly. (apr. 7 Qts.) I say partial because there are still 2 quarts or so in the torque convertor and cooler. A full change would either involve a trans flush machine, or draining the pan, refilling with 4 quarts of fresh fluid, starting the engine and running it through all the gears and draining the fluid again. If this transmission functions properly for 20k miles, it will get a full fluid change. While dex VI fluid is the updated industry standard fluid recommended for this trans, I prefer to use the original type fluid in it when it has very high milage on it.
