How to Install Windows Server 2022 on VMWare?
Many organizations from small business to large enterprises rely on Windows Server and its services.
So Learning Windows server and getting hands on experience is crucial for anyone who is planning to administer an organization that is using Windows Server.
But We know Windows Server licensing is different and it also requires specific and more powerful equipment to run.
So how should you practice and test different roles and features of Windows Server?

In this short video, I'm going to show you how to find, download and install and evaluation version of Windows Server for free.

Your first selection in the Windows Installation Wizard is selecting the Operating System Edition.
There are two versions of Windows: Standard and Enterprise.
Windows Server 2022 Standard has almost most of the features of Enterprise but it lacks some features and functionalities like "Storage Spaces Direct" or "Software defined Storage feature".
But the main difference between the two relates to licensing of Virtual machines.
Standard edition allows you to license two Virtual Machines and the host with the same license where as Enterprise allows you to have unlimited number of VMs licensed.

Your next decision is deciding between Core and Desktop Experience.
Desktop Experience is the normal version of Windows which most of us are used to and have used, where as the core edition lacks the graphical user interface. It is a lighter version of OS and has less surface for attacks and requires less resources to run, but it has some limitations as well.
Some of the Windows features are not available and you can't install some applications. More on this subject later.
