My favorite movies are by Luc Besson, and he usually has Eric Serra doing the music. I own every Luc Besson movie and every Eric Serra soundtrack. This is The Diva Dance from The Fifth Element.

I recorded myself playing this song 4 different times, each from a different angle. When editing I just cut to each clip where I played my best idea for that part of the song. I never play a song the same way twice, so with this approach I was able to put together my best ideas from those takes into this minute and a half.

My basement's a mess. I don't even check to see which one of my kids' toys was in view until I'm editing!

p.s. Here's someone doing a pretty damn good job at singing this! Some passages are clearly vocal simulations on keyboard, so it's really ambitious to think of attempting to sing this for real...
