The next-gen Subaru WRX and WRX STI will allegedly both use versions of the brand's 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine, according to Japanese site carsensor.net. Three turbocharged powerplants will motivate 80 percent of the automaker's lineup by 2021.



It rides on the Subaru Global Platform and uses a newly developed 1.8-liter flat-four turbocharged boxer gasoline engine originally announced with the aforementioned Levorg prototype late last year. We now have the juicy power numbers: 174 hp (130 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque.
