Описание

This is a small video of Linux 3.11 booting an Arch Linux ARM user space and running KDE 4.10 on NVIDIA SHIELD. The Linux kernel used here is an *actual* Linux 3.11 with only a handful of extra patches. It is *not* a hacked Android kernel.

This shows what can be done on SHIELD with 100% free software. Absolutely no proprietary code is used here - the counterpart of which being that display is not GPU accelerated yet (but tegradrm support should be possible), and that many useful features (wifi, touch) are not working yet.

Still, joystick input and other USB are perfectly usable, so one can actually plug a mouse, keyboard and network adapter and enjoy a small quad-core workstation.

On this video: Okular, KPaint, Onboard (on-screen keyboard), Konsole running a kernel compilation, KBreakout and Pingus.

Please forgive the video quality, my poor photography skills do not give justice to SHIELD's gorgeous display.
