Robert McCall finds himself in Southern Italy after a brutal confrontation with criminals and, for the first time in a long while, discovers a place where quiet, the care of local people, and the measured life of a small coastal town give him the feeling of something almost like home. Gradually, he becomes attached to those around him: the doctor Enzo, café owner Aminah, carabiniere Gio, and the people who accept him not as a dangerous stranger, but as a man who also needs healing. But the town’s peace is under the control of the Camorra: local gangsters extort money, intimidate families, and turn the beauty of Southern Italy into a territory of fear. McCall tries to stay aside, but the old instinct of the protector takes over once again, and his personal road toward peace becomes a final war against those who are used to treating other people’s lives as their property.
