COROT-7 is a G-type main-sequence star that is located 489 light-years away from the Earth in the Monoceros constellation. It will take Voyager-1 around 8.5 million years to reach there, which travels at an astonishing speed of 62,140 Km/h. COROT-7 is smaller and less massive than the Sun. Its surface temperature is about 5,000-degree Celsius and is estimated to be around 1.8 billion years old which is less than half the age of the Sun. Since it is a young star its metallicity is 10 times higher than the Sun.
