In this lecture, we'll take a look at various forms of rhetoric (or slanter) including these: euphemism, dysphemism, rhetorical analogy, rhetorical definition, rhetorical explanation, innuendo, loaded question, hyperbole, stereotype, and sarcasm. We'll look at various examples of how these rhetorical devices are used.

Whether or not you are aware of it, you use rhetorical devices all the time. You phrase what you say in a certain way to elicit a certain emotional response from those around you. It's kind of like a Jedi mind trick. One of the best ways to protect yourself is to be able to identify forms of rhetoric when you see them.
