The Stepson - short film

A cross between Narcos and the Sopranos, but using
a realistic view of Latino culture. In the stepson
I saw something mutual with the story which is why
I wanted to make this film. It showed the struggle
of the Latino youth in Toronto Using the motifs of
the city and culture. from there the story
developed fluidly with the real life of
Christopher Meneses.

Anthony, a young Colombian immigrant is introduced
into the organized crime world by his stepfather,
Rafaelle Cardoni, the boss of a local mafia
operation. But as Anthony soon learns, the Family
is not happy with the involvement of outsiders
and soon they are ordered to eliminate the
Colombian kid.
Anthony manages to escape from an ambush schemed
behind Cardoni's back, but the price to pay for
it is high: now his own Stepfather has to
terminate him or else the Family will come after
him.
As Cardoni cuts ties with the family, he joins
forces with his stepsons to create a drug empire
that now rivals with his old organization. The
three combine the elegance of the old mob, with
the spice of the Colombian cartels.
THE STEPSON; Blood is not thicker than water, is
the classic story of family connections, love &
betrayal in the criminal underworld and the
ruthless lengths the key players go through to
maintain their status and power in it.
