Nextbots are NPCs that use the source nextbot system. Nextbots were first created by Valve for the game Left 4 dead to allow more advanced pathfinding and navigation. Unlike NPCs, Nextbots require a navigation mesh (navmesh for short) as opposed to "ai nodes" for NPCs for navigation. Navigation meshes can be automatically generated using "nav_generate" or manually created.
