This video showcases the latest demo build for Sonic Unleashed 2D, a fan game that re-imagines the highly beloved Sonic Unleashed from a 2D perspective! The project was designed by Team Unleashed 2D, led by Blueblur Dark!

In this game, Sonic can perform the following abilities: spin dash, stomp, slide, boost, homing attack (which behaves like an air dash if it locks on to nothing) and jump. He can also look up and down.

The player can take Sonic through up to three different acts of the Windmill Isle stage from the Apotos region, as well as a singular act of Sonic Rush's Water Palace Zone! On the other hand, neither the werehog nor the night stages are available.

Sonic can collect Moon Medals from any of the action stages, but Sun Medals are nowhere to be found. You can also defeat enemies and perform Action Chains to build up your experience, but the demo does not come with an option to let you manually level up your character, not yet anyway.
