He's called Agent P, but no golden shower this time.

My gun char Agent P shows some focused fire on Skeletron Prime's head and avoiding waste of ammo (ichor bullets for defense reduction) on the arms. Once you get a feeling for his movements, it gets easier to do that. (And I kinda got the feeling, because this was kill 7 of 8 in a row in one night.)
For example, when it goes into a frenzy, halfway through that phase or sooner I tend to approach it instead of chickening all the time. It's easier to avoid the arms when you're close to the center, and they also seem to be flailing around less there. (Daring turns out to be safer, hah. Like being in the eye of a storm.) And when at a distance, I'm changing altitude all the time to confuse its aggressive arms in that phase and open a corridor to the head.
Since I was using Shroomite Armor, the reg statues were only for making 8 kills in a row more convenient. It's quite easy to avoid getting hit if you prioritize that.

Also, if you're using Shroomite Armor and can afford taking a bit more damage, try to stand still whenever you can. It gives you ~50% extra damage output, which can shorten the fight a lot. This is why I kill Plantera in no-time using my teleporter arena. The jumps against the ceiling don't even interrupt stealth. Lately I don't even bother activating the reg statues. I can totally safely kill Plantera without them.

I have killed this and other bosses so many times now. Damn RNG. As you can see on the arena deco, I am still missing Skeletron Prime's trophy. So it's another busy night, and maybe another, and maybe another after that.
I am drowning in hallowed bars and health potions by now.
(UPDATE: Got it roughly a dozen kills later.)
