All you need to connect them is string (such as a gift wrapping string) and a needle or stick to thread the string through the hinges formed at the edges of the squares. For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags
- cardboard or paper (e.g. cereal packs are good)
- ruler
- a pen
- scissors
- clothespins or other clips
- durable wooden sticks or knitting needles

To join woven pieces, you need:

The ends of the cords are carefully melted with a lighter. Be careful not to burn them or anything else! Only plastic materials can be melted. If you use natural fibres such as cotton, it will burn and not melt.
