VIDEO LINK = http://youtu.be/8PZ4wR464J0 Entomologist, researcher Dr Victor Fursov is talking about Collecting Methods to explain how to collect and rear chalcid wasps (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) and parasitic Hymenoptera at the laboratory conditions, and general methods and devices to store parasitic insects (dry in plastic tubes of 1 cm long, and in plastic or glass jars with caps and with 96% ethanol). The collection of dry insects in tubes are well stored in wooden and plastic boxes (they must be kept dry, without moisture). These collected insects (small parasitic Hymenoptera) can be used for species indentification.
The samples of insects can be presnted for entomologists-experts for correct species identification.
If you reared or collected any Hymenoptera Parasitica or phytophagous Hymenoptera, you can present these samples or photos of insects for experts-entomologists who are working in your local area.
The samples of reared Hymenoptera, either from tropical areas or temperate areas, may have unique scientific material with new species (even never known for the science!), that can be identified and studied by experts-entomologists and used in scientific publications.
