DESCRIPTION:
There is not much in terms of harmonic material (chords) in this work. Like most rap/hip hop music the amount of material is not the point, it's more about the "vibe". In other words, it's about the rhythm, the groove, and the story or lyrics.
Talking to many of my students about Rap/Hip Hop they like to use the word "FLOW". I like that! There's a lot to that word. It describes perfectly the way urban music is created. It has to have a flow or it doesn't fly.
A word of caution! Take care to NOT turn this into what it is not. It is NOT a song that can be played in a vanilla fashion:) Don't take the song and flatline it by playing it with no soul or...well flow.
The bridge section may be tricky as it is a series of stops and starts, chords and single notes. Listen and you will come up with your own way to handle it.
