Succulent Tapestry Maintenance Part 1

This square has four sides: one is dedicated to varieties of flower gardens, two are devoted to my Succulent tapestries, and the other is still deciding what to do. The fence is needed to be redone first, so we will come up with what we can do later.

This time of the year is the start of spring, so this is what my tapestry looks like after winter and experiencing severe weather.

The garden has lots of rotten leaves underneath the plants. Removing the rotten leaves provides the succulents with good air circulation and allows the soil to dry out more quickly. In addition, removing these rotten and dried leaves will help to prevent mildew and diseases.

Generally, replanting, beheading, and propagating are best done in spring, so, Off with their heads, I Snip succulent rosettes, leaving one to two inches of stem to anchor each cutting.
When beheading succulents, you'll first want to decide which ones you want to leave intact and which need their heads chopped off. Then, when it gets new rosettes, I'll plant it somewhere close to the mother or more permanent or keep taking cuttings from it.
When the plant is leggy, I will initially cut off the tops, but if the base plant is not doing well, I will pull it out.
I will Replant the cuttings in the arrangement by filling in any holes or gaps where I removed the plants.
Even after planting the cuttings from the arrangement, I still have some gaps. So I filled in with cuttings from another arrangement. You can do what you desire with your tapestry; there is no rule. That is why I like making succulent tapestries. It is a form of art. You are free to do what you want.

Then my last step is finishing the arrangement by adding the top dressing. Top dressing is the decorative rock used to cover the soil in your arrangement. Since I always try to use whatever we have around the house, I use these medium-sized white rocks we bought years ago.
The top dressing makes the arrangement seem tidy and clean.
