Dvorak: Symphony No.9. Artur Rodzinski & London Philharmonic Orchestra. 1956
Описание
Dvorak's "New World" Symphony does not need much elaboration. The piece was premiered in Carnegie Hall in 1893 during Dvorak's three year residence in the US. He was greatly inspired by the music of African-Americans during his stay in the US, which put him at odds with many of his counterparts (and Americans in general.) However, the symphony was very well received at the outset and has been a mainstay of orchestras ever since.
Westminster mono recordings, like this one, were among the best sounding of their day with excellent dynamics.
