In december of 1980 a TV program called Studio S ran a segment debating on how to handle the fact that young children could easily get access to uncut horror movies through the new video rental stores that were quickly becomming a part of society.

The TV-broadcast started a moral panic in Sweden, which ended with several horror movies getting banned (including The Texas Chain Saw Massacre which would be completely outlawed between 1984-2001) as well as a new set of laws being coming into effect, making it obligatory for all movies to be sent in for censorship before getting released (much like the video recording act in the UK).
