The vacuum tube, a.k.a. tube or valve, is an electronic component which helped revolutionise electronics in the 50's but today has been greatly replaced by modern components. Even so, valves are still used today especially for audio equipment such as amplifiers. Learn more about valves in this video which includes a valve preamp I made.
