Описание

Excessive Speed is a top-down 2D racer using pre-rendered graphics and an isometric fixed camera.

Race one of seven cutesy cars in over 14 fanastical tracks (which can be raced in reverse for a total of 28 track options!) On the tracks are several pickups including weapons which you can use on your opponents, not unlike Mario Kart which was one of the games that inspired Excessive Speed.

This game was published by Iridon Interactive and developed by Chaos Works, whom had been working with Epic Games in Poland in 1996-1998 but abandoned the project. It was one of the first games to use DirectX. After Epic Games abandonded Excessive Speed to focus their efforts on the Unreal Engine, Björn Larsson of Iridon Interactive acquired the rights from the near-defunct developer Chaos Works in Krákow; after which he secured global publishing and distribution through a variety of partners including TopWare, Virgin Interactive, and 1C Company.
