What is this? - Reflections of past doubts,
That got lost in sweet languor’s embrace?
The cold, the grandeur of ancient creations,
The brightness of events under old sarcophagus’ face?
Much has been lived and much has been forgotten.
Lists of losses and finds have decayed.
Born by someone - killed by someone,
Flags of the defeated in a pile displayed.
In the form of a beast, I await my punishment,
In the guise of a beast, I caress like a cat.
A hero? Defeated? In the heat of predictions,
Do not rush, hold on just a bit, at that.
Of all the mournful dates that have passed in a row,
On old tracks, step by step, like in reconnaissance,
Whoever waited and has waited – shall reap a return,
But there are no traces by the broken fence…

What is happiness? - It has flown away, and soon
They forgot about it, surrendering to sorrow.
Only the blue sea remembered its tune,
And the seagulls that screamed something to borrow.
And the distant sail, that flickered like a dot,
Flashed, disappeared and then reappeared,
Like Morse code, it signalled to us a lot,
It lived in the storm, lost amid waves it steered.
It remembered the past, it remembered the grief,
But joy as a guiding star beckoned so bright,
Bestowing hope where it met with relief,
It sailed through the storm, living so right.

And the blue sea changed its hues all around,
And the waves sometimes reached up to the skies.
We searched for the sail, we lived in dreams found,
But still from reality we fell far behind.
I, a wounded beast, floundered by the sea,
Threw myself at the waves in impotent rage,
Where is the sail of hope? Freedom and glee?
But only I lost myself in the water's stage…
