'A Town With An Ocean View’ performed by NUS Guitar Ensemble at Exuberance, An Ode To Youth. Recorded in NUS University Town Dance Atelier 2, Singapore, on 15 October 2022.

A Town with an Ocean View opens the film Kiki’s Delivery Service as the young witch Kiki arrives at her new seaside home. The whimsical melodic theme and pizzicato technique, accompanied by the tambourine, illustrate Kiki’s childlike curiosity and sense of wonder as she embarks upon a new, adventure-filled phase in her life. Opening with a shy and uncertain pizzicato, the piece gradually develops into an exuberant melody backed by the tambourine, signifying Kiki’s initial apprehension turning to zest and wonder as she grows familiar with her new world.

About us 🎸
NUS Guitar Ensemble (GENUS) is a student-run guitar ensemble located in the National University of Singapore, and a member of NUS Centre For the Arts.
