A way of creating inner shadow effect in Adobe Illustrator

1. Create some object, choose the fill color and remove the stroke
2. Copy the object. Change the fill color to black and paste it above your previous one.
3. Add a new fill color and change it to white
4. Select the white fill color in the appearance panel and apply the Transform effect. Got to Effect / Distort and Transform / Transform
5. Select the white fill color again and apply the Gaussian Blur effect. Go to Effect / Blur / Gaussian Blur
6. Click to the main Opacity in the appearance panel and select the Multiply mode

Add this appearance settings to your graphic styles gallery and modify it in the future as you like.
