The first 14-inch Precision 5000 mobile workstation defines new levels of mobility with surprising performance. It might be small, but it has great specs.
The Bottom Line? Mobility with a Kick
How? It has fast graphics: an NVIDIA RTX A1000. It has a fast CPU: a Core i9-12900H. It has plenty of RAM: 64 GB of LPDDR5 5200MHz memory. It has lots of fast storage: 4 TB NVMe Gen4 x4, Class 40 SSD. It has a 14-inch, InfinityEdge touch display with a 2560x1600 resolution.

The CPU options are the same as the larger 5-series systems: the 15-inch Precision 5570 and the 17-inch Precision 5770. The memory capacity is the likewise the same as its 5000 series big brothers.

What stands out is the optional NVIDIA RTX A1000 GPU with 4 GB of GDDR memory.

The RTX A1000 is new. A first look at Viewperf 2020 places this new GPU close to the performance of the RTX A2000 that was tested last year. That is a big deal in a 1 ½ kilogram, 14-inch workstation.

With the fast NVIDIA RTX A1000, great CPU choices, 64 GB of memory, and 4 TB of SSD storage, the Precision 5470 is a welcome addition to the Precision 5000 series.
