In this Scratch Flappy Bird game tutorial for advanced Scratchers, we look at making an adaptation of the original Flappy Bird game. I call this came LEDdy Bird. I break down how to make the game writing a plan in comments of the project editor. We will use many ‘my blocks’ to make the code reusable. We’ll illuminate the columns of the LEDs so that our bird has something to dodge and create an opening for the bird to fly through. We’ll use the A/B buttons of the micro:bit to move the bird position up and down. In order to be successful with this tutorial, you’ll need a strong understanding of ‘my blocks’, ‘variables’ and ‘lists’ in Scratch. This is the first part of a two-part series.
