Changing Hair Color in Adobe Photoshop

One of the most popular photo-editing processes, in the case of portrait photography, how change the color of the hair of the model who poses for the camera; whether both for aesthetic reasons or for purposes of propaganda (in cases in which we use vivid hair colors), it is a technique which can be accomplished easily in Adobe Photoshop.

What you need to know about this process? Very easy: user-level basic knowledge on how to work with the layer blending modes and, above all things, great creativity and sensitivity to get realistic results.

Begin by creating a new layer, change the Layer Blending Mode to Soft Light, to then paint (with the brush tool) with the color desired the hair of your model. Subsequent to that, we simply create a Hue/Saturation layer where we will control the final hue of that hair. If we want a natural effect, reducing the opacity of the layer we will achieve more realistic effects.
