Together with her brother Jonathan, she sets out into the desert, where the ancient ruins conceal not only treasures, but also the terrible secret of the priest Imhotep, who was executed for forbidden love and buried alive under an eternal curse. The careless reading of an ancient book awakens the mummy, and the hunt for artifacts turns into a battle against a force capable of bringing ancient horror back into the world. Stephen Sommers’s adventure movie combines fantasy, horror, romantic comedy, and the spirit of classic stories about cursed tombs, where salvation depends on courage, knowledge, and the ability not to lose one’s sense of humor even in the face of a living nightmare.
