When Borden presents a mysterious illusion involving instant transportation, Angier decides to uncover its secret at any cost and turns to inventor Nikola Tesla, whose experiments blur the line between science and miracle. Christopher Nolan’s psychological thriller, based on Christopher Priest’s novel, combines a drama of revenge, the dark atmosphere of theatrical backstage life, and a story of men willing to sacrifice their lives for the perfect illusion.
