Bethany Hamilton basically has salt water in her veins. Her parents both surfed, she had a best friend named Alana who surfed, and also 2 brothers who did so too. Bethany Hamilton started surfing when she was around 1 or 2 years old. She has been in the ocean for as long as she could remember! At the age of 8, she started to really love surfing and she competed in surfing competitons and won lots of them. Everybody said she had a bright future in surfing. Her dream was to become a pro surfer when she grew up. On october 31st, Halloween day was the day her dream was almost shattered. It was just like any other normal day, she went out surfing with her friends, and then, a 6ft great white shark took her arm.But that didnt stop her! Today she is now a Pro surfer and is still living the dream.
