Installing Outbyte's PC Repair software by Auslogics, found via dubious fake popups online that claimed I have a virus which needs to be taken care of. Outbyte PC Repair claims to be a PC cleaning software with antivirus functionality built into it. It claims to speed up the PC by removing junk files and cleaning up the registry - measures that have little or no effect on the actual speed and responsiveness of the computer.

Outbyte PC Repair is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and scareware and should be uninstalled.
