Tsukimichi follows Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school student who is transported to a fantasy world where he's supposed to be a hero, but after being rejected by the goddess who summoned him due to his appearance, he loses his hero status and is banished to a desolate region and to prove his worth, he embarks on a journey to help the needy and fight evil in this new world.

The second season of the anime adaptation ended in June 2024, and soon after, it was announced that Tsukimichi had been renewed for a new season and an commemorative illustration was released, depicting the main characters breaking a barrel with hammers.
