Here is what it says:


"Hi r/NZXT,

My name is Lauren and I am the Customer Service Manager for NZXT. I wanted to give you guys an update regarding an issue that we are aware of with our Kraken Z’s. Currently, there is a USB compatibility issue that Kraken Z63 and Z73 customers are experiencing with select AMD Ryzen-based motherboards. The Product & Engineering teams have isolated the root cause to be an incompatibility between these AMD-based motherboards and the series damping resistors used in the NZXT product design. The USB signals from these motherboards, when connected to the Kraken Z-3s, result in a difference in the D+/D- voltage levels outside of the USB standard, causing the Kraken Z-3 to fail USB enumeration.

Numerous AMD motherboards were tested internally and have found that this does not occur on every motherboard, even of the same model, hence why it was difficult to catch during product development. Intel-based motherboards are not exempt from the possibility of showing the same type of issue.

NZXT’s validation team will be expanding the library of motherboards in order to catch compatibility problems like these early on. A change to the Kraken Z-3 PCBA is in place for the series damping resistor, which will be implemented later this month in April 2020.
