Now, there are few steps to add lyx to your linux.
1. Add the PPA for the 'release', i.e. stable, compilation

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lyx-devel/release

2. Update so that apt is aware of the new PPA

sudo apt-get update

3. Install from the PPA

sudo apt-get install lyx

4. Run LyX by open terminal and type:

lyx
