The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe is a six- or seven-seat compact crossover SUV that competes with the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape and Honda CR-V. A Sport model seats five passengers. For 2017, the Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport get an exterior refresh and some minor changes.
There are three available engines. The Sport uses either a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 185 horsepower or a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 240 horsepower. The Santa Fe has a 3.3-liter V6. All versions have a six-speed automatic transmission. The Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport are front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available. For the Santa Fe, EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges from 17 mpg city to 25 mpg highway, depending on trim and drivetrain layout, while the Sport ranges from 19 mpg city to 28 mpg highway, depending on engine, trim and drivetrain layout.
