The canal port of Cesenatico is still today the true "backbone" the soul of the city life, of the commerce of the city. In the floating section are collected the prototypes of the boats from the upper and middle Adriatic, with the colored sails to the third.

In 2005, the port was renovated by inserting the so-called "vincian doors", a sort of dam that closes the channel in the event of high tides in order to avoid overflowing the canal that in recent years had caused serious damage to the surrounding areas. In any case, today we can say that the Porto Canale Leonardesco is the beating heart of Cesenatico where art, culture and entertainment mix together .
