This video shows how to manually or automatically save any quick-save or autosave and back up the files so that you can return to any point in the game no matter how far you advanced.

** Update ** The script will now back up files belonging to DLC content, and files stored in a separate folder. Just change the $sourceFolder variable if your saves are not in the same folder in which you're running the script.

Updated to remove the exception message it was showing for the missing quick save file when playing in ranger mode. Thanks to lutherrevan for finding the issue and providing a quick fix!

The manual steps are:
1. Quick save your game
2. Find your Saved Games folder - most likely C:/Users/{user}/Saved Games/Metro Exodus/{id}
3. Copy the files: user.cfg, m3_auto_save and m3_quick_save to a backup folder
4. Exit the game
5. Replace the files user.cfg, m3_auto_save and m3_quick_save to load a previously backed up game, or just load any chapter knowing your progress is safe
