Rick and Evelyn O’Connell have long since left adventure behind and live in England, hoping at last to enjoy peace after their earlier encounters with ancient curses. But their son Alex, now an archaeologist, discovers the tomb of the powerful Emperor Han during excavations in China, a ruler once cursed by the sorceress Zi Yuan and turned, along with his army, into terracotta statues. A mistake and someone else’s ambitions awaken the emperor, who dreams of regaining immortality, raising his army, and conquering the world. The O’Connell family must once again race against an ancient evil, this time among Chinese temples, snow-covered mountains, legends of Shangri-La, and magic far older than their previous enemies. The third installment of the adventure series moves the story of The Mummy from Egypt to China, combining fantasy action, family adventure, and the mythology of the Terracotta Army.
