Lloret de Mar is a Spanish municipality in the region of La Selva, in the province of Gerona, Catalonia and next to the sea, on the Costa Brava. It is endowed with excellent beaches of grainy sand. It also has magnificent views of the castle at one end and the other the monument to "La Dona Marinera" which represents the suffering of women waiting for the return of their fishermen husbands.
