I apologize that I couldn't get the old switch to work. Those things are CHEAP! I had one of them, it worked for a month or two until I got the PS4, and suddenly wouldn't work AT ALL. So I bought another, which worked for everything but the PS3/PS4... got my money back from the seller, ordered another from a different seller, same problem, got another refund. So I have several of these things that all don't work.

Basically, the PS4 wouldn't show up at all, and the PS3 did - but it had lots of "snow" on the screen, almost like the days of analog TV when you had poor reception. I don't know how this is even possible, because HDMI is a digital signal (and with HDCP it's encrypted!) but apparently the little chip in that was at its limit and couldn't output properly and would just screw up the graphics.

Some tech stuff:
The manual that came with this unit said it had HDCP 1.2, which is a very old standard and likely not accepted by modern devices. However, as shown in the video, all of my systems worked - including the PS3 and PS TV, both of which require HDCP or they will not output over HDMI, period. I also tried using Netflix on the Xbox One (which also requires HDCP) and it worked fine.

Another neat feature this switch has - despite the delay, it doesn't seem to give the devices an "ending handshake". I don't know what this is actually called, but normally when you change inputs on your TV (from, let's say, HDMI1 to HDMI2) the television tells your HDMI device that it is no longer "active" and that you've switched inputs. Many programs will auto-pause or even error because you did that. Netflix on the Xbox One, for example - if you switch inputs normally, it will stop the movie and go back to the Netflix menu. With this switch, this does not happen - I can switch to another console, wait a few minutes, switch back and the video is still playing!
