Step-by-step guide on how to remove / replace / change complete taillight assembly or tail light light bulbs on fifth generation of Ford Explorer SUV ( 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | SPORT | 3.5L | ECOBOOST ).

Replacing the tail light on Explorer is quite easy. First remove two 8mm screws which are holding the tail light in place. Then pull the tail light straight out, do not pull to the side as there is a small pin on the side of the taillight. Safest way to do it without breaking the tail light is by taping duct tape on the tail light and pulling straight out. Once you have it out you can easily remove and replace any of the tail light light bulbs (reverse light bulb, stop light bulb, turn signal light bulb). If replacing the complete tail light assembly just disconnect electrical connector and that's it.
