About RHEL 9 - RHEL 9 was the first to be based on CentOS Stream, itself based on Fedora Linux, while historically RHEL was based directly on Fedora Linux. The first beta for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (Plow), based on Fedora Linux 34, was released on November 3, 2021. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (Plow) was released on May 18, 2022.
