For around $50 I don't think I could find anything comparable. They double as good gaming or music listening headphones. The removable microphone makes them indistinguishable from other headphones, so you don't have to look like a nerd on public transit. However, if you'd like to brag about your MLG status, leave the microphone for street cred.. I bought the Arctis 1 for my son who is getting into gaming and I didn't want to go overboard with his headset (I am a gamer and have more expensive equipment but not about to have him start on that!). I was really surprised with the Arctis 1. It is very comfortable and light weight. The head strap padding is pretty good and the fit works both on my head and my sons head (12 years old). He really likes the detachable mic (personally I don't care as I just use it for gaming, but he likes that he can connect it to different devices that don't use the mic and therefore doesn't have a large mic in his face). I was a little skeptical as SteelSeries makes great products, but hasn't done that well at this price point. However, after using it and seeing my son's response as well, would highly recommend.. Hands down, these are AMAZING! I was so surprised at the quality! The comfort level is phenomenal with me being a glasses wearer. Just overall top notch quality! Would recommend these to any series gamer looking to step up their sound quality! Can’t wait to play online with these! And the games I’m most excited to play are Hellblade and Last of Us 2!!!. I really like how the product is comfortable and covers the entire ear personally. Lucky, the headset has extensions to have extra room. Sounds were great, able to hear certain sounds that wouldn't normally hear with other earpieces or headsets. Mostly used the headset for gaming on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and my online classes for college. This is my first gaming headset and so far, the headset doesn't disappoint.
