Story (Clever Turtle):

Once there lived a clever turtle in a lake. One day he came out of the water to walk around. As he was walking... A cunning fox hiding behind the bushes looks at the turtle. Fox is very hungry. On seeing the turtle, the fox gets excited that he can have a lovely meal for lunch. He jumps from the bushes and catches the turtle. The turtle is shocked and scared for his life. The fox tries to bite the turtle, but he couldn’t. The turtle had a hard shell. Seeing this, the turtle gets an idea and speaks to the fox.

The Turtle says “Mr. Fox, I can see you are having trouble eating me. But, if you soak me in water, I will become softer and then you can eat me.”

Fox replies “Ha … Do you think I’m a fool to let you in the water so you can escape from me?”

Then the turtle insists “No … I’m trying to help you. I can't escape if you hold me under the water with your paw”

The fox thinks for a while and then he agrees. He takes the turtle to the edge of the lake. And puts him in water. The fox holds the turtle under the water with his paw. He asks turtle to tell him when he is completely soft.

The fox waits for a while and asks the turtle “Are you soft now, I am very hungry and I want to eat you.”

The turtle replies “I am soaked completely except the area you put your paw. If you can just release your paw, I will be soaked completely.”

The fox agrees and lifts his paw. As soon as the fox lifts his paw the turtle slides into the water and swims away. The foolish fox is shocked. And the turtle is happy that he saved himself with his witty mind
